Visual Impairment Aid

Hi guys.... here i have attached a simple project for visual impaired people and an aid for them to help out.... good day ahead .....

VISUAL AID USING ECHO LOCATION:

285 million people are estimated to be visually impaired worldwide. They use sticks and canes to navigate and sense objects. But it causes disturbances to other persons around them.
Our project aims to help them to navigate between various obstacles in their surroundings without annoying others.
For this we use the concept of biomimicry using which we copy the action of bats to locate objects by the principle of echo location.

COMPONENTS USED:

>ULTRASONIC SENSOR
The ultrasonic sensor is use to provide the echo location technique, as it operates by transmitting echo from the source and receiving it back when the echo hits an object.
The ultrasonic sensor uses the Doppler effect, which states the change in frequency of a wave (or other periodic event) for an observer moving relative to its source.

> ARDUINO UNO BOARD
This is an single board microcontroller which contains of an ATmega 328 controller chip. The arduino is used to control the ultrasonic sensor detection and to interface it with an buzzer.

>BUZZER
The buzzer is connected to the output pin of the arduino and depending upon the distance between the objects and the ultrasonic sensor, beeps are produced with various delays.

> 9 V POWER SUPPLY
Arduino requires an supply between 7 to 12 V for stable operation. In order to make the device compact we used an 9 V power supply.

WORKING PRINCIPLE:

This project looks to be very simple guys... but is very powerful n can be modified in  effective way to be used for visually impaired people.... for more fun in electronics visit our fb page.. https://www.facebook.com/ELECTRONICS.MADE.SIMPLE to contact us directly.......

enjoy and have fun...........
