A brief comparison of increase in price of electronics components since September 2012 by Team simple

In the past 2 years since we involved in doing electronic projects, we found that the price of the electronic components required for the projects keep on increasing every year. For example, we had spent nearly Rs.3,600 for complete design of a maze solving robot in December 2012. But on reviewing the price of those components now, we feel that the same maze solver would be built in Rs.4,200. Sooner, we realized that there are astonishing factors for the price hike.
For example, in 2011, there was a price hike due to the Earthquake in Japan. There are also price hike in electronics due to US federal Govt. shutdown, decrease in value of Indian Rupees versus US Dollars, etc.

These price hikes also falls upon the head of Electronics students who are planning to do some projects. So it is advisable to decide the project in advance and get the components as soon as possible before another hike hits them.
